FIFA World Cup 2010 Logo
On July 7, during the closing days of the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany, the official emblem for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa was unveiled. The logo has been designed by Switch Design – led by Creative Director, Gaby de Abreu.
The logo features a player performing a bicycle kick, the African continent as a background and the now-official World Cup logo that was first introduced in the 2002 World Cup Korea/Japan and then appeared in the 2006 World Cup Germany.
Personally, I feel the logo is a bit too busy. However, it is a step up from Germany’s smiley faces (I detest smiley faces).
